An autobiographical music theatre work for spoken memories and sung emotions.

Confronting Silence is an autobiographical performance exploring death, the fear of loss, and the difficulty of facing what cannot be changed or fully understood.

Combining vocal music, spoken word, and physical expression, the work brings together two ways of approaching personal experience: the telling of memories and the expression of emotions through music. While an actor speaks the memories, the singing gives voice to feelings that may be difficult to express in words.

Moving between speech, music, and movement, Confronting Silence explores the space between what we remember, what we feel, and what remains unspoken. It asks how we live with the awareness of loss, and whether confronting silence can bring us closer to the things we fear to lose.

Through an intimate and personal performance, the work invites the audience to reflect on their own experiences of memory, vulnerability, and mortality.

This performance presents an initial version of a larger work in development.
